We are proud to be the bank for teachers, nurses and allied health professionals – the people who care.

But we know that you’re so much more.

You’re aunts, uncles and friends. Foodies, musos, goalies and world explorers.

Bank First. For all you are.

Victoria Teachers Limited ABN 44 087 651 769. AFSL/Australian Credit Licence Number 240 960.

They see me for all I am.

In 1972, a group of 48 teachers took the bold step to create a ‘People’s Bank’.

They pooled their individual contribution of $10 into a shoe box and we were born. Our first loan was made to a single mother to cover her rental bond for her family. Today, it is still a ‘People’s Bank’ – one for teachers, nurses and allied health professionals – the people who care.

Like all Australian banks, we meet all the regulatory requirements and deposits are guaranteed by the Australian government under the Financial Claims Scheme.

Being customer-owned allows us to work hard for our customers (we call them Members) - tailoring products and services to help them be all that they are and more. When Members speak, we listen and act.

We actively invest to support your community. From funding your teaching initiatives, to scholarships and awards for aspiring teachers, nurses and allied health professionals and those who need that extra little help. We've invested more than $1.5 million since 1983.

When no one would lend us money because I was a teacher on minimum wage, Bank First was there for me. Every step of the way, through the highs and lows, you've been with us.  Chris & Jeff
